The Cross

Just like to share this story in lieu of the Lenten season.
These are great days we are living in, but there are moments where we wish life was a little easier. Life is not always easy but be encouraged and take comfort in the fact that God is with us and He will see us through every problem or situation that has us worried. We sometimes want the answer to come the second we finish praying, but God sees the big picture and will use every problem to make us stronger and in turn more faithful to know that He is an on time God. He knows what we need even before we ask Him so be encouraged and know that He will meet your every need according to His riches and glory.
This is a great short story that encouraged me to always be content in life because there is always someone carrying a heavier burden than I am. Read this message and think of the people that are not as fortunate as you are.
The young man was at the end of his rope. Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy cross to bear."
The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then, open the other door and pick out any cross you wish."
The man was filled with relief, "Thank you, Lord." he sighed, and he did as he was told.
Upon entering the other door, he saw many crosses; some so large the tops were not visible. Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered.
The Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

When life's problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see what other people are coping with. You may consider yourself far more fortunate than you imagined.
When I was a child, my mother taught me to never look at the people that are living better than I am, but to look at those who are less fortunate than me. If I'm always looking at the person who has a better home, job or lifestyle, then I will never be satisfied with where I am in life. But if I think about the person who has no home and does not know where their next meal is coming from, then I will be thankful for all that I have. Be encouraged and know that you are blessed.
